Dr. Brian Hibler Presents at SCALE 2026 in Nashville
This May, I was honored to be invited faculty at SCALE 2026, one of the premier multi‑specialty conferences for aesthetic and medical dermatology, held at the Grand Hyatt Nashville. The meeting brings together leading experts in injectables, lasers, and cosmetic dermatology to share the latest evidence-based techniques with colleagues from around the world.
Speaking on the Rise of “Skin Quality” Treatments
One of my featured lectures, “The Rapid Rise of Skin Quality Treatments,” focused on how we can move beyond simply chasing individual wrinkles or spots and instead address the overall look and feel of the skin. Skin quality includes texture (smoothness, fine lines, pore visibility), pigmentation (even tone, brown spots, redness), and mechanical properties (firmness, elasticity, and subtle lift). In my talk, I discussed how lasers, light-based devices, microneedling, peels, neuromodulators, and intradermal hyaluronic acid can be combined to improve texture, tone, and tightness in a safe, predictable way.
Advanced Techniques in Botox and Filler
I also participated in a roundtable discussion on neuromodulator (Botox) and filler techniques and best practices. We discussed different techniques including the use of a needle vs cannula for dermal fillers, focusing on safety and precision, as well as different approaches with neuromodulators to achieve a natural result. A major theme was individualized treatment planning, taking into account each patient’s anatomy, goals, tolerance for downtime, and budget to create subtle, high-yield results that age well over time.
Combining Lasers and Injectables Safely on the Same Day
My second main lecture, “Combining Lasers and Injectables for Same Day Treatment,” highlighted how we can safely layer neuromodulators, fillers, vascular and pigment lasers, and fractional resurfacing to address multiple concerns in one visit. When done thoughtfully—choosing the right patient, sequencing neuromodulators and fillers before lasers, and selecting appropriate energy settings—combination treatment can minimize total downtime and number of treatment sessions while enhancing results through synergistic effects. I also reviewed important situations when we should not combine procedures on the same day, such as fully ablative laser resurfacing with fillers or treatments that deliver high energy in the same anatomic plane as recent filler.
Why This Matters for My Patients
My participation at SCALE 2026 reflects an ongoing commitment to bringing the most current, evidence-based aesthetic techniques back to my patients in New York City. As a board‑certified, fellowship‑trained cosmetic dermatologist, I focus on natural results, careful safety protocols, and treatment plans that improve overall skin quality, not just isolated features. Whether we are planning a gentle skin quality program or a comprehensive same‑day combination visit, the goal is the same: healthy, radiant, and authentic‑looking skin at every age.
